Marisol's academic background includes graduating with honors in Business Administration from UNAM, a Master's degree in European Studies from Hochschule Bremen, and additional studies in Strategic Marketing, Leadership, and Sustainable Development. Among her clients there are highly recognized companies and organizations in the solar industry. He develops energy projects in the area of: Evaluation of renewable energy sources, Solar Concentration and Heat Transfer. He is a member of the Mexican Academy of Engineering (AI) and of the SNI-CONAHCyT. He is currently the head of the Energy Directorate of the Ministry of Economy of the Government of the State of Sonora since October 2021. Responsible for the Social Programme of Distributed Solar Generation and the monitoring of the Sonora Sustainable Energy Plan.

Previously, she was General Manager of the Asociación Mexicana de Energía Solar Fotovoltaica (ASOLMEX) and General Director of (CANACINTRA) in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. In addition, she is the creator of ""Mujeres Transformando"" program, and has contributed to the development of the Centro Regional de Investigación y Desarrollo de Energías Alternativas (CRIDEA) through the Colegio de Chihuahua. She has a degree in International Relations from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua, with a postgraduate degree in Administration, focused on Business Development and a specialization in Energy Law from the Escuela Libre de Derecho.
